Brief Summary:
The workshop is in-person and includes a PowerPoint presentation and practical scenarios to develop the participant's understanding of their safeguarding roles and responsibilities.
Additional Information

The workshop would cover the following:

- Develop insight into the potential risks to children in organisations

- Understand the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations

- Outline the Australian Child Safety legislative landscape

- Recognise the importance of building a Child Safe Culture

- Learn how to recognise and respond to Child Abuse

- Discuss the reporting obligations of Scouts NSW personnel in relationship NSW legislation and provide guidance on what to do if a safeguarding report is made by a child

The workshop requires active participation and includes scenarios, connection to organisational policy, practice, services, and activities, as well as knowledge check opportunities and take-home notes (PowerPoint Presentation).

The workshop will run consecutively for 3 hours including breaks and a morning tea will be provided. Participants will be required to attend in full.
