Lego League robotics competition Southern Ranges and Scouts ACT teams for 2023 season
Additional Information

The FIRST Lego League is an international LEGO robotics competition for children aged 10-16, 9 year olds by application. The 2023 FLL season is themed “Masterpiece” and will open Worldwide on 1st August. Meetings are Sundays 3-6pm, starting 23rd July and going through the 2nd December. There will be 3 additional day camps (9-5) at Burra Community Hall: 29-30 July, 9-10 September (Saturday to 8pm), and 21-22 October.

To compete in the FLL, teams of 2-10 students (under guidance of adult mentors - please volunteer!) must work on the following areas:

  • Robot Game: Design, build and program a LEGO robot to compete on a playing field the size of a pool table.
  • Innovation Project: Conduct research and invent a solution to a real work problem.
  • Core Values: Adhere to Core Values that include teamwork, learning, leadership, and Good Sportsmanship.

Our teams will compete in the Wollongong Regional competition on Saturday the 18th November. Teams that do well will progress to the National Championships at Macquarie University on the 2nd December. The most successful teams will have focussed on learning new things and helping others. To get a feel for the season you can watch the teaser trailer at https://youtu.be/QArg43rCMBA.

Please read the attached participant information sheet for more details.
