Additional Information

Objective:

The objective is to provide a fun activity for Scouts to complete the requirements for Bushcraft-Pioneering Outdoor Activity Skill (OAS) level 4.

Description:

The Scouts will be working in their Patrols to initially construct a 5m high flagpole and chariot to demonstrate knotting competency.
Each Patrol will then construct their own platform in the trees and connect them with bridges to form an "Ewok" village. The Structures will be approx. 1.5m above the ground and if deemed safe enough by the Leaders the Scouts will be permitted to sleep on them overnight. Tents will be utilised if not sleeping in the trees.

On Saturday night the Scouts will watch 1 of the Star Wars movies. Additionally, the Scouts will likely visit the North Rocks 7-Eleven for a late night snack (optional).

Skills required:

The Patrol Leader has ultimate decision on suitability of each Scout in their Patrol to participate in this activity, however, as a guide Scouts should have already achieved Bushcraft level 2 prior to attending this activity and be well progressed on Bushcraft level 3.
