Brief Summary:
This activity is aimed at members wanting to learn and/or practice deep water and drag in rescues. Ideally you will be working towards your safe or trained participant in canoeing or wanting to refresh your skills.
Additional Information

On the day, we will be learning and practicing canoe deep water rescues (T rescues) and drag in rescues. We will be doing this either out the front of SWASH in Lane Cove River or paddling a short distance to either Woolwich Baths or Woodford Bay depending on the weather conditions.

On the day remembering you will be getting wet, bring along:

  • some dry clothes to travel home in
  • any medication you require
  • dry bag to keep any essential gear on the water dry (you can leave mobile phones etc at SWASH)
  • if you wear glasses, a glasses strap is a good idea as you will be capsizing your canoe
  • sunscreen
  • hat
  • water
  • sunsafe clothing (long sleeves recommended)
  • wear fully enclosed shoes that will get wet (no crocs, thongs etc) as there are lot of things to cut your feet on

SWASH provides canoes, paddles and PFD's.

Activities are subject to suitable weather conditions. If for any reason the event is cancelled, you will be able to rebook or obtain a refund. If you are unable to attend after registering, you will not be entitled to a refund.
