Overnight Cycle

Participants can register for a single day cycle or the full 2-day overnight cycle. Those doing the overnight cycle will be camping at 1st Kellyville Scout Hall. Camping gear, dinner and day 2 meals can be dropped to the scout hall prior to the activity so participants are only required to carry a day pack for the journey.

Day 1 is a 37km ride beginning near the Elizabeth Dr exit on the M7 at 10am. The starting location is Ward Park on Balmoral Cct Cecil Hills. The route will take us along the M7 cycle way to Richmond Rd, onto the Schofields Rd cycle way to Rouse Hill Town Centre and then via cycle paths to 1st Kellyville Scout Hall.
Those doing the full overnight cycle will camp at the scout hall, and enjoy a campfire.

Day 2 is a 32km ride from 1st Kellyville Scout Hall at 9am. The route will take us along the Old Windsor Rd cycle way to Parramatta Park and then along the Parramatta River cycle way to Newington Armoury playground for lunch and some fun in the playground. Participants will then cycle back to the Rydalmere Ferry Wharf car park for pick-up at 4pm.

Participants must have a geared bike in good working order. Participants must also have an emergency contact on-call who is able to collect them and their bike should a situation prevent the participant from continuing the journey.

Overnight journey gear:

- tent
- sleeping bag and stretcher/bedroll
- dinner & breakfast
- mess kit, cooking equipment
- toiletries, towel

Day cycle gear:

Participants doing a day cycle and/or overnight cycle must bring the following along on the ride
- bicycle with gears in good working order & ABCDEQ check completed
- suitable clothing for weather
- helmet, cycling gloves
- sunglasses
- sunscreen
- bicycle repair kit including tyre levers, spare inner tube, punction repair kit, allen/torx keys
- bike pump
- first aid kit
- panier or day pack (with chest and waist strap is best)
- morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea
- water
- phone

Requirements
Participants must have completed Cycling stage 3, or have approval from a leader to attend (please contact your leader before registering if you are unsure).
