Canoeing Experience - 1/2 Day Berowra Creek

This Activity is suitable for participants with Canoeing experience:

• Youth members: Scout age or above and hold OAS Stage 2 or above.
• Adults: Flatwater Canoeing Safe Participant or above
• If you do not hold such qualifications and are confident that you have the necessary skills, please contact the organiser to discuss

This is a social paddle from Windeyer Scout Camp exploring the upper reaches of Berowra Creek to the tidal limit and various tributaries such as Still Creek and Calnia Creek.

Participants will be provided with canoes, paddles and PFDs, however, you are wellcome to BYO equipment if you prefer to do so. All equipment will be checked for safety prior to use.

Bring a water bottle and snacks to take with you on the water, a saussage sizzle lunch will be provided which you may enjoy while soaking in the rustic charm of Windeyer Scout Camp.

On the day, remembering you will get wet, you will need to bring:

• any medication you require
• sunscreen
• hat
• morning tea
• water bottle
• wear sunsafe clothing (long sleeves recommended)
• spray jacket (to keep warm)
• wear fully enclosed shoes that will get wet (no crocs, thongs etc)
• note - the put in and take out location is very muddy, be prepared to get your feet dirty!
• dry clothes to travel home in

Activities are subject to suitable weather conditions. If for any reason the event is cancelled, you will be able to rebook or obtain a refund. If you are unable to attend after registering, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Access to Windeyer Scout Camp is via punt across Berowra Creek from Crosslands Reserve. Meet at the Canoe ramp at Crosslands Reserve, Sommerville Road, Hornsby Heights. Here is a link to the location in Google maps
