Guiding Adventure Workshop is a combineation of online sessions, face to face sessions, homework (documentation) and practical demonstration. Some participants may need to organise and lead activities to demonstrate competency required for lead units.
Note - Applications to this course are subject to review by the course leader. Once your application has been accepted you will be forwarded more information, links for the online sessions, details for homework, workbooks etc.
Need to commit to doing the doing the work prior to, during and post the workshop.
Pre-requists
	- Be working towards Guide qualifications in at least one skill area.
- Have completed or have significantly completed the required on demand e-learning modules.
- Have an up to date logbook to submit with application.
The workshop series will cover the following VET units:
	- SISOPLN002     Plan outdoor activity sessions
- SISXFAC001     Maintain equipment for activities
- SISXCCS004    Provide quality service
- SISXCAI006      Facilitate groups
- BSBCMM411     Make a presentations
- TAEDEL311       Provide work skill instruction
Via participant in the workshop, documentation, logbooks and through the running of activities you will also cover the following VET Units:
	- HLTWHS001     Participate in workplace health and safety
- PUAOPE013     Operate communications systems
- SISOFLD001     Assist in conducting recreation sessions
- SISOFLD002     Minimise environmental impact 
- SISOFLD003     Select, set up and operate a temporary or overnight site 
- SISXEMR004    Coordinate emergency responses
- SISXIND011      Maintain sport, fitness and recreation industry knowledge    
- SISOPLN001     Finalise operation of outdoor recreation activities   
- SISOPLN004     Identify hazards, assess and control risks for outdoor recreation activities  
- SISOPLN005     Interpret weather and environmental conditions for outdoor recreation activities
 
On successful completion of this workshop, your work will be forwarded to a SAIT Assessor for VET units required in the National Adventurous Activities Framework (NAAF) for the “Core” requirements for a Branch Appointed Guide.
