Brief Summary:
For youth members who have a passion for bushwalking and are interested to challenge and extend themselves. Minimum age 11 years. Prerequisites apply. Available to members of Scouts NSW. Approx capacity 3 groups of 8.

This difficult route is only recommended for youth and adult members who are developing their capacity, resistance and endurance. All team members must be capable of responding to emergencies. 

Long untracked sections. Remote area. Route only, experienced navigation required. Potential dense growth and debris on route caused by recent fire. River crossings. Swims and jump in's.

Jenolan Caves to Katoomba via Jenolan River, Hellgate Gorge and Lower Jenolan Gorge

Kanangra Boyd & Blue Mountains National Park. Approx 60 km, 6 days includes hard grade. Follow the Jenolan River downstream from Jenolan Caves Underground River to its confluence with the Coxs River. Spectacular wild and remote country.

Wades, swims, river crossings and rock scrambles. One or two jump in's. Quite manageable for active kids.

Participants can be dropped off at Caves House or can travel on the Coach from Katoomba

Departs from the Bus Stop at the Carrington Hotel, 15-47 Katoomba Street, Katoomba at 10.35am daily. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure, and arrives at Jenolan Caves approximately 12.00pm.

Early pick up can be arranged Dunphys Campground, Megalong Valley on 21 Jan.
