Personal Development Course 4 (PDC4) is an engaging and rewarding experience designed specifically for Venturer Scouts and Rovers aged 16 to 20 years. Throughout the weekend, participants will take part in a variety of activities, discussions, and challenges focused on developing leadership skills, self-awareness, teamwork, communication, and personal growth.

PDC4 provides a supportive environment where young people can build confidence, form lasting friendships, and gain practical skills that can be applied in Scouting, study, work, and everyday life.

Catering Information

This is a self-catered activity, and participants are responsible for bringing and preparing their own meals for the duration of the course.

The exception is Saturday evening, when everyone will enjoy a Pizza Night together. Pizza menu options and dietary requirement information will be sent to participants closer to the course.

• Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts
• Aged 16 to 20 years

Accommodation Information

Accommodation will be in tents. This means you will need to bring your own tent.

Tenting will be one person per tent.

Please note that accommodation does not include personal sleeping gear. Participants will need to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow, or equivalent sleeping equipment suitable for the conditions.

Packing Checklist

Participants should bring:

✅ Hike Tent (one person per tent)
✅ Sleeping bag, pillow, and sleeping mat/stretcher
✅ Change of clothes for the weekend
✅ Weather-appropriate clothing (including warm layers and rain gear)
✅ Personal toiletries and any required medications
✅ Water bottle
✅ Food for the weekend (except Saturday dinner)
✅ Cooking and eating equipment required for self-catering
✅ Pen and notebook/paper for course activities and note-taking
