This is not a workshop for novice abseilers, rather an event to assist those with exising qualifications to transfer to the new curriculum. We will cover the knowledge elements on Saturday morniing and then work through the elements of VET Module SISORSC002. This will include hauling systems, raise and lower rescues, self rescues, types and use of fixed and artificial achors, escape from a loaded belay, prusick up, down, transfer to another rope etc.. I would expect applicants to have their own gear at this level.. I will have ropes, slings etc. The activity will operate under COVID restrictions that are in place at the time of the event. Self catering for all meals and single tent usage for those who elect to camp overnight rather than leaving and returning Sunday.
The course has two structures
Both Saturday and Sunday for those who do not hold SISORSC002 (Perform Vertical Rescues) $20
Just the Sunday for those who need to do a refresher and already hold SISORSC002 (Perform Vertical Rescues) $10
A COVID Plan will be in place with QR log in and manual recording also with our COVID Warden. Myself and those assisting are double vaccinated and this course IS ONLY OPEN to Leaders who are DOUBLE VACCINATED. The Maximum number of allowed attenees may change if Health Dept allow an increase.
