An introduction to the physical/mechanical aspects of overnight hiking.

The distance will be 14 km. The average grade of the hike will be entry level inclusive of a medium section. All participants will be supported by a bushwalking guide. Suitable for Scouts on their first overnight hike.

The campsite below the Ruined Castle includes a storm shelter, picnic table, rainwater tank and toilet.

Light commentary provided. Keep a close eye for reminders of the Coal mining days.

Walking route includes Glenraphael Drive, Golden Stairs and Federal Pass.
