Search and Rescue exercises in line with OAS stage 9 and SISORSC001 (Conduct Search and Rescues) requirements.
This is not an overnight activity but is run over two days.
Camping is available at Camp Coutts for those wishing to stay overnight
The course is run by the South Met Activities team and retired SAR proffessionals
We will be running a series of Search and Rescue exercises. These exercises range from, losing a party member while on a bushwalk to conducting a major SAR exercise involving several search teams and a central command centre. Some participants will have the chance to coordinate the command centre while others can conduct a grid seach in the field.
Course participants will have to come prepared as you would for a days bushwalking, supervising a group of youth.

The exercises will be conducted over a three and a half square km area in the Camp Coutts region.
At times the walking may be demanding and through scrub and off track
SISORSC001 (Conduct Search and Rescues) is a requirement for all Activity specialist and assistant guide in difficult bushwalking on tracked and untracked bushwalks. It is also a core module for Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership
